Are you pet-friendly?

Yes, the cottages and campsites are pet-friendly. The cottages are fenced. Because we have baby animals and small livestock please keep your pets under control.

Do you have backup power supply?

We have a generator in case of power cuts and provide load shedding lamps and candles. Sometimes when the weather is very bad the wifi may go off.

Is there drinking water?

The water in the taps is from our borehole and perfectly safe to drink. We also provide a bottle or two of filtered water in the cottages as well.

Do you provide meals?

We are a self-catering establishment. We do have a small shop on site that stocks meat, drinks, long-life milk and some tinned foods.

How far are you from Nieu Bethesda and Graaff-Reinet?

We are about 5 km or 10 minutes' drive from Nieu Bethesda, and about 50 km or 40 minutes' drive from Graaff-Reinet.

Can I drive a small car on your dirt roads?

Most of the time small cars have no problems with the dirt roads and even the river crossing. However, when the river comes up, it's sometimes necessary to park on the other side and we provide transportation across the river.

Are there baby animals we can feed?

We often have lambs and baby goats that get bottle fed around 7 am, 12 noon, and 5 pm. Inquire upon arrival. You can help feed the animals.

A restored farm cottage beneath the vulture cliffs with two en-suite bedrooms: one with a queen bed and shower, the other with two single beds (convertible to a double) and a separate bath and shower. The open-plan living area has a fully equipped kitchen, a Charnwood wood-burning stove, air conditioning and double-glazed sliding doors onto the patio with outdoor dining and a built-in braai. Goose down duvets and electric blankets throughout. Self-catering, pet friendly, sleeps four.

We have two nesting pairs of Verreaux's Eagles (Black Eagles). Kudu, Vaal Rheebok, and Klipspringer can be seen along the river valley, especially early mornings, late afternoon and at dark. Herons and coots nest on the farm dam.
