Nkasa Lupala National Park

Nkasa Lupala, once called Mamili, is Namibia's largest wetland, a park of channels, reedbeds and islands where the Kwando River spreads into the Linyanti swamps on the Botswana border in the Zambezi Region. It is Namibia's Okavango: buffalo herds, elephant, hippo, red lechwe, sitatunga and wild dog, with a bird list above 400 species and boat safaris in the wet season when the tracks flood. It is reached by 4x4 or by the tented lodge on its edge, and it is a malaria area, best from about June to October.
