Most of these stays are in the Western Cape fynbos, the KwaZulu-Natal grasslands and forests, and the Lowveld. Spring and early summer, September to December, bring the migrants and the breeding plumage. Winter is the season for the Cape endemics and for the wetlands of the highveld.
